Welcome to Powerline Petroleum! We’re glad you visited. In today’s complex world of fuel procurement and distribution, ever present and extreme price volatility has made everyone’s job tougher. Unfortunately, in light of global supply and distribution constraints present in today's energy complex, that degree of price volatility only looks to grow larger in the future. As a buyer or marketer of fuel, ethnaol or natural gas your job - and maintaining your firm’s budget or margins - is only going to get tougher as time goes on. At Powerline, our sole purpose is to help clients navigate the ups and downs of the ever changing energy markets. Our financial (hedging) programs are specifically tailored to meet the needs of the jobber, wholesale, retail, refining and end users segments of the industry.
Our approach is simple. We focus only on our client’s bottom line. Powerline is not party to any physical or wet barrel transactions. We’re not here to sell you barrels or Btu’s. We don’t care if you’re branded or unbranded. Whether you’re a jobber or c-store chain – a propane marketer or fleet operator – a regional cooperative or nationwide corporation - we’re here to help you navigate today’s volatile markets. Powerline always offers an independent viewpoint, with only your bottom line in mind.
BACKGROUND:
The core of the Powerline Group is composed of principals David Chatterton and Darren Dohme. Unlike other brokerage firms, our entire staff operates as a partnership, working for clients as a team rather than as individual brokers. The key focus of our group is to help our clients manage their fuel price risk and protect their margins and/or budgets. Our management team combined represent over 70 years of commercial trading/hedging experience in the fuel business. Our hedging and pricing programs are based on sound hedging principles and conjoined with our client’s activity in the cash/wet bbl/btu marketplace. Our philosophy for managing customer risk encompasses the use of both traditional exchange based products (Nymex, ICE), as well as O.T.C. (derivative) products.
CHALLENGE:
Our responsibility to our clients is to take the groups collective experience in managing price risk & volatility, and turn that into simple, sound, and practical programs that help enhance the customer’s bottom line. Our goal in launching Powerline was to combine some of the industry's strongest proprietary research and analysis, alongside a platform of superior access to the industry's best providers of both exchange based and OTC financial hedging instruments.
